man walked 10 miles over more than six hours to reach safety on Monday after being impaled by his own trekking pole while climbing Granite Peak, Montana’s highest mountain.
David Cifaldi of Billings, Montana was having a normal hike until he stumbled on rough terrain at roughly 11,800 feet elevation, driving one of his trekking poles through his side.
