Only one week on trail and it’s already been quite the adventure. I’ve learned a lot, starting at Camp Lockett, where most hikers choose to stay before they start at the Southern Terminus. The camp used to be a Buffalo Soldiers base during World War 2, so that’s a neat historical tidbit. The hosts held a campfire chat where they shared safety advice and tips, here are a few I jotted down:
