On the shuttle ride into town yesterday, the shuttle driver, Laura, showed us the spot where a hospital used to be, where houses were. She said all the areas along the Nolichucky River that were now rocks used to be forest. All the trees were wiped out and washed down river.
But, in the midst off all the destruction, there was hope. Hope for a new beginning. Uncle Johnny’s has rebuilt. Others are slowly rebuilding too. …
