Got a late start this morning, but probably needed sleep. The climb out from War Spur was aggressive. Then I had rhodo runnels down to Laurel Creek shelter. Appropriately named, you do get to parallel the creek for a short bit after the shelter.
Once out of the tunnels, it was cow pastures, views, and sun. I saw the Keffer Oak, the largest on the southern AT, which is looking rough. But maybe that’s just how 300 year old oaks look? …
