The Clwyd and Powys Archeological Trust clearly mention a well dedicated to St Bennion in their description of Llanymynerch. When I reached the place, which is also marked in local maps, all I could find were locked gates and trees surrounded by thickets of brambles. The well might be in there somewhere. No one seems to know anything about a St Bennion nowadays, though the well was used for “charms” until the 1870’s. I think perhaps it was a well never really adopted by the church, …
