Stopping Just Short of the NC Border:
Today started with one of the longest mileage climbs that pretty much sapped us immediately. The hope was to push for the North Carolina Border, but the nearest place to camp after the border was an additional 7 miles from Plum Orchard Shelter. We elected to stop a few miles short and just cross tomorrow.
Feels great to almost be out of Georgia, but tonight is the first night we’re without people we had met in the first few days. …
