The Arizona Trail doesn’t warm you up. It throws you straight into climbs, heat, and 5 days of food on your back. In my first week, I covered 171 miles and over 22,000 feet of gain, learning quickly that desert hiking is a different game. Between brutal climbs, chafing emergencies, and a reunion with an old trail friend, this was a start I won’t forget.
