As I had expected, Day 1 was a relatively gentle introduction to the West Highland Way.There were a few showers, but yesterday’s comically heavy rain stayed away.Transport was cheap, free in fact, again in sharp contrast to the unexpectedly high cost of a taxi from Glasgow Airport to the gateway town of Milngavie. It would not be a long distance walk unless I’ve got lost at least once. We were confronted with a fork on the path about 2 km in and decided to take the high road. …
