Our stay at the Merry Inn Hiker Hostel was a wonderful experience. We felt well rested and ready to get back on trail when we woke up. We had arranged a shuttle back to the visitor’s center trailhead with the hostel the night before. Unlike the massive breakfast we ate in Damascus before getting back on trail, we opted for more reasonable portions at the Downtown Pioneer diner. It was delicious! Our shuttle driver Phoenix was waiting by the car for us when we got back. …
