Passing through the arch is analogous to walking through the wardrobe in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and the world changes. The true magic that makes the Appalachian Trail is the love that is exemplified in many ways. Hikers truly care for one another. Everyone you meet feels like family. Kindness, care and respect are the norms of the day. The physical challenge is hard, but it brings to the community an instant camaraderie. …
