Day 31: Gooch Mountain Shelter to Neel Gap (Mountain Crossings)
The most memorable aspect of today’s hike was the climb and descent of Blood Mountain at 4400 feet. This was the first big climb on the AT for me. The descent was almost as arduous, but I knew that I was descending into Neel Gap, where I would be able to resupply, and buy some pizza and soda, and sleep in their hostel.
