The last few miles took us out of the blight onto a lovely salt marsh. As the vibrant green landscape opened up in front of us, we both sat down in the grass and lay back looking up at the sky. The fresh sea breeze erased all our bad memories. After a long break, we hiked the last mile to the Flint Castle, where we were scheduled to meet a taxi that would take us to our lodging for the night.
