First full day in the Smokies! Another solid night sleep last night, maybe I finally adjusted to my sleep setup on trail. Looking forward to today, shooting for 17.5 miles to Derek Knob Shelter. Which will be a longer day, but with rain pending in the forecast the next few days, it felt like a good idea to push more miles today and give ourselves more flexibility later in the week.
