Shuttling back to Town
Staying at hostels along the AT is convenient for so many reasons. They provide loaner clothes when you need to do laundry. They usually provide shuttles into town for resupply and to/from the trailhead if they aren’t located within walking distance from the AT. And they are usually much cheaper than a hotel or Airbnb.
